An alumnus from Puyallup Washington Butler was interested in the arts while growing as a child. She performed on stage as well as at school. The actress moved from Los Angeles to study theatre at the University of Southern California and then played Belle the Princess in Beauty and the Beast for about a year in Disneyland. Her primary goal was to secure a talent agent. She then auditioned for roles on TV as well as film. Butler guest starred on the TV program CSI: Miami. Alongside New York City and Copenhagen, the film was scheduled for shooting in Copenhagen Denmark. She also was part of the cast of Treachery which featured Michael Biehn. The independent feature film began filming at Los Angeles in early 2012. Butler appeared in The Demented (2013), produced by Michael Welch with Kayla and Michael Welch.

Some of her most prestigious wins include her winning the Young Artist Award (for Mermaid) along with the CAMIE Award, for Best Leading Performance in a TV Movie Series or Special.
